Price range:
$55.00 - $90.00

Description

Russell Nature Walks in Russell

Enjoy a relaxed, informative walk in a Private Forest and Kiwi Conservation Area with your friendly, qualified guides: Lisette and Eion. Russell Nature Walks is one of few places in New Zealand where two rare birds – Kiwi and North Island Weka – can be seen in the wild.

Come for a walk with us to learn more about our native forest, the creatures that live within it and the conservation challenges they face. You will encounter New Zealand birds in their natural habitat, plus fascinating insects and plants.

Our walks are suitable for most fitness levels and last about 2 hours. We keep our groups small and personal so there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions and enjoy the peace of the forest. $15 from every ticket sold goes contributes directly to our conservation project for kiwi, weka and other birds.

Join us for our fun and informative ‘Ecology Walk’ or the ‘Night Walk’…….or both.

Was fortunate enough to see a kiwi. Certainly needs to be a small group, as ours was, so as to ensure minimal noise. Very special experience and the guide is extremely knowledgeable.

As nature lovers myself and my fiancee found this nature walk fantastic even though we didn't manage to see a kiwi. We heard one up close which was really exciting and got to say loads of other wildlife like wetas, spiders, moreporks, wekas, glow-worms and silver ferns. The wild kawa-kawa tea was delicious. Eion was very knowledgeable, friendly and good company. Would recommend to anybody as a very different experience
