Welcome to Abel Tasman Sea Shuttle, we are transport and adventure tourism operators in the Abel Tasman National Park, New Zealand.

We specialize in taking clients into the Abel Tasman National Park by boat with our customized fleet of ferries and with our sea kayak company, Kaiteriteri Kayaks. It’s an exciting maritime environment and our team take pride in teaching our guests about the area, including the history, landscapes and creatures within it.

Our trips offer you superb experiences in the Abel Tasman National Park, while traveling on clear, blue water. We have purpose-built catamaran water taxis, with easy walk on-off access for all age groups and our experienced and knowledgeable team will ensure you get the best out of your time in this part of New Zealand.

We are based in picturesque Kaiteriteri, with it’s stunning beach and proximity to the Abel Tasman National Park making it a mecca for kiwis and internationals alike!

#1 - Option 1. Walk or Relax - Depart Kaiteriteri 09.00am, Return pick-up Anchorage 3.45pm

A great family option! Depart Kaiteriteri for Anchorage and relax on the beach. Enjoy a one hour return walk to Te Pukatea Bay; a 1½ hour return walk to Pitt Head to view the lighthouse and panoramic views, or from Anchorage – walk to Cleopatra's Pool. This is graded as a comfortable walk.

Return Pick up: 3:45pm from Anchorage


#2 - Option 2. Seals, Bridges & Walks - Depart Kaiteriteri 09.00am, Return pick-up Anchorage 3.45pm

Departing 9.00am from Kaiteriteri
Depart Kaiteriteri for Medlands Beach walk to Anchorage (4 hours) through lush native bush and over Falls Rivers. Enjoy the views from Falls River swing bridge and you may see kayakers far below you.
Return pick-up at 3.45pm at Anchorage.
This is graded as a comfortable walk.


#3 - Option 3a. Seals & Hike - Depart Kaiteriteri 09.00am, Return pick-up Medlands Beach 3.30pm

Depart Kaiteriteri for Tonga Quarry, viewing the playful New Zealand fur seals on the way. Land at Tonga Quarry and walk to Medlands Beach 1½-2 hours
Departs: Kaiteriteri 9:00am
Return Pick up: 3:30pm Medlands Beach


#4 - Option 3b. Seals & Hike - Depart Kaiteriteri 09.00am, Return pick-up Anchorage 3.45pm

Depart Kaiteriteri for Tonga Quarry, viewing the playful New Zealand fur seals on the way. Land at Tonga Quarry and walk to Anchorage 14.7kms or 6 hours. Reasonable level of fitness required. Walk may be reversed dependent on tides .
Departs: Kaiteriteri 9:00am
Return Pick up: 3.45pm Anchorage


#5 - Option 4a. Awaroa Ambience - Depart Kaiteriteri 09.00am, Return pick-up Tonga Quarry 3.10pm

Take our informative cruise from Kaiteriteri to Awaroa viewing seals on the way. Relax on the golden sand beach at Awaroa or buy a delicious lunch and enjoy the hospitality at Awaroa Lodge and Café (own expense). When you are ready hike 1.75 hours to Tonga Quarry and take in the views.
This is graded as a comfortable walk.
Departs: Kaiteriteri 9:00am
Return Pick up: 3:10pm at Tonga Quarry.

#6 - Option 5a. Discovery Day - Walk Apple Tree Bay to Anchorage

Depart 9.00am All Discoverer Day Trips encompass A Full Scenic Cruise from Kaiteriteri to Totaranui and return viewing fur seals and visiting beaches on the way. An unguided walk in the park, see lush native bush, beautiful golden beaches, hear native birdsong then pick-up time to suit your travel requirements.
Option A: 7.5km, 2.5 hours. Leave Kaiteriteri 9.00am enjoy cruise to Totaranui then back to Apple Tree Bay 12.00pm drop-off. Pick-up from Anchorage 3.45pm back to Kaiteriteri. This is graded as a comfortable walk, recommended to take a light day pack with water.


#7 - Option 5b. Discovery Day - Walk Medlands Beach to Anchorage

Depart 9.00am All Discoverer Day Trips encompass A Full Scenic Cruise from Kaiteriteri to Totaranui and return viewing fur seals and visiting beaches on the way. An unguided walk in the park, see lush native bush, beautiful golden beaches, hear native birdsong then pick-up time to suit your travel requirements.
Option B: 10.5km, 4 hours. Leave Kaiteriteri 9.00am enjoy cruise to Totaranui then back to Medlands Beach enjoy your walk to Anchorage for a 3.45pm pick-up back to Kaiteriteri.
This is graded as a comfortable walk, recommended to take a light day pack with water.


#8 - Option 7a. Full Park Scenic Cruise - Depart Kaiteriteri 09.00, Return Kaiteriteri 12.15pm

#10 - Option 8. Three Day Park Passport

Option 8.Our best value option for those who would like the flexibility to visit and experience different parts
of the Abel Tasman National Park over a 3 day period. This popular option will take you on 3
different walks of your choice in the Park over 3 days. You are able to walk through and enjoy the
Park and then be picked up and returned to your point of origin, either Nelson, Motueka, Kaiteriteri
or Marahau, you can mix and match different sections of the track you'd like to visit and walk.


#11 - Option 9a. Eco Hike and Cruise Adventure

This full day experience includes a 3 hour guided Eco-Hike, picnic lunch and a national park cruise throughout the full length of the park!
We will spend a full day exploring on the land, along the beaches, and upon the ocean along the Abel Tasman National Park coastline!
This is a fantastic day in the park with a wide variety of experiences, it is both fun and educational and suits a wide range of people including, families, children and tour groups.
Your day starts and finishes aboard our fast ferries and begins with a short cruise to your hiking destination, on which you'll visit the famous Split Apple Rock.
Eco – Hike:
Let our guides take you on a hike through the Abel Tasman National park all the while introducing you to the native flora and fauna within the forests and beaches of the park. They will tell stories of the local Maori who have been guardians of this landscape for centuries as well as the European arrival and creation of the National Park Itself.
After a short ferry ride from Kaiteriteri you will hike northwards from Apple Tree Bay to Anchorage and visit Te Pukatea Bay and see the remarkable views from Pitt Head along your journey. You will have a lovely picnic lunch along the way either in the forest or on a golden sand beach. .
Cruise:
Once you have completed your hiking adventure you can relax aboard the Abel Tasman Sea Shuttle for a full park scenic cruise.
Sit back and let the experienced skippers take you along a string of beautiful beaches to the northernmost beach ‘Totaranui' and then visit a string of beaches and bays along the coastline. You will stop and check out the fur seal breeding ground at Adele Island and cruise back to the lovely Kaiteriteri beach.

#12 - Option 9b. Sea Kayak and Eco Hike Expedition

This full day experience includes a 3 hour guided Eco-Hike, picnic lunch, guided sea kayaking adventure and a scenic cruise!
On this tour you get the chance to have both a terrestrial (land) and aquatic (water) adventure!
You will explore the forests and beaches of the National park on foot then by sea kayak!
Your day starts and finishes aboard our fast ferries and begins with a short cruise to your hiking destination, on which you'll visit the famous Split Apple Rock.
This is a fantastic day in the park and suits people with a sense of adventure that really enjoy having a high level of ‘hands on' experiences and enjoy great storytelling and environmental information!

This is a very beautiful stretch of coastline where you will get the see blend of the rugged granites and tumbling boulder headlands with the soft golden sand beaches bordered by abundant forests.
The sea kayaking is world class and after a hike you get the chance to rest the legs and let your arms take up the action!
Cruise:
After your hiking and sea kayaking experience you'll be ready to relax aboard the Abel Tasman Sea Shuttle for a scenic cruise. Just sit back and let the experienced skippers take you along a string of beautiful beaches back to the lovely Kaiteriteri beach.
